Thankful Thursday and a Lita Update

Hi everyone, it's the Mom today with an update on Lita.

I have consulted with Lita's Internal Medicine vet, and she believes that we may actually be treating bacterial pneumonia based on the fact that Lita has responded positively to the Convenia injections.

She has recommended that Lita have 5-6 more injections before we try to stop them.  She believes that Lita's possible pneumonia keeps gaining a little ground because we were waiting 2 weeks between injections - by that time, Lita's couging was  becoming worse.  She wants to tighten up the schedule so that Lita gets an injection every 10 days instead.

So, that is what we are going to do starting next week.

I am well aware that this might not be bacterial pneumonia.  But - whatever it is - the Convenia injections DO make Lita feel better (less coughing, more lively and active).  And for that, I am very thankful.  I am also thankful tat the injections have kept her alive two months longer than anyone expected she would live!

If you'd like to contribute to Lita's treatment, our fundraiser is still open HERE.

  6. Don't you wish that veterinarian's had a scanner, like Dr. McCoy in "Star Trek", that would say EXACTLY what was wrong? If Lita is responding well, then that is GREAT news!

  8. I am glad the injections are helping Lita. Although it is not good for Lita to have a bacterial pneumonia infection, at least it can be treated. I hope the new regime works well for her.
