Wordy Wednesday with Milita

Hi everyone, it's Milita today.

I know you have seen this photo of me before, but the Mom hasn't been taking many new photos of us lately.  This is fine by me - that flashy thing is pretty annoying.

Last week, I had to go to the vet.  The Mom was worried about me and decided it was time to take me in.  I was really unhappy about this and made sure to sing the song of my people the whole way there so the humans all knew just how unhappy I was.

The vet was finally able to get x-rays of my leg.  She also stole some urine and blood from me.

My kidney, thyroid, and liver all checked out fine.  My blood sugar was a tiny bit elevated, but the Mom and the vet think this is probably because I get so stressed out at the vet's office.  This is all good news.  The Mom was worried about my kidneys.

The x-rays showed that I tore some ligaments and that I have a few bone spurs.  The Mom and the vet discussed sending my x-rays to a radiologist, but they decided not to because even if I have done more damage to my ankle, I cannot undergo any kind of surgery since they cannot give me any gas anesthesia due to the poor state of my lungs.

The Mom and the vet discussed how the gabapentin doesn't seem to be helping my pain at the reduced dose she is giving me.  The Mom tried giving me the full dose for a week, but it made me feel awful.  So they decided to try me on something called Tramadol.  The Mom is going to pick up the pills from the pharmacy this week.  Nobody asked ME about having to take more pills!

The Mom says she is very thankful that my health is relatively okay, but she is very sad that I am in so much pain.  I am thankful that I have a human who understands what it is like to be in pain all the time.

  5. I am so sorry you have to go to the Vet so much. Do you have a heated pad? Maybe that would help instead of being drugged up catchatwithcarenandcody
