Mancat Monday

Carmine: "Who put this pesky pizza in MY spot?"
Hi everyone, it's mes, Carmine!

It's finally MY turn to post an update!  But first, can someone please tell mes why this pesky pizza is in MY spot??

Last week, mes had to go see the vet for my three-month anal gland expression.  ::looks embarrassed::  Everybody loves mes at the vet because mes is so cooperative and nice.

After theys did my anal glands, the vet tech brought the Mom and Lita back to the exam room.  Lita was there to get hers leg looked at again.  The vet tech told the Mom that mes had lost 12 ounces!!  The Mom was not expecting that because mes has been eating well - for mes.

When the vet came back, hers looked at Lita's leg.  Lita was very growly, MOL!  Hers did not like the vet poking at hers hurt leg.  The vet (which wasn't our usual one) thinks Lita injured a tendon and that hers probably does not has a broken ankle.  Since the vet visit, the swelling in hers ankle is slowly going down, so it looks like hers will heal up okay.  Lita will go see our usual vet this week for another follow-up for hers leg, but please don't tell hers because hers will go hide under the dresser!

Carmine looking grumpy in his carrier at the vet.
After Lita was done, the vet and the Mom talked and decided to draw bloods on mes.  Hey!  Nobody said there would be any needles!!  Mes was a good boy, of course, but mes was very grumpy-looking when mes came back to the room.

My bloods all came back fine - except mes has low phosphorus.  Mes and the Mom doesn't know if that is supposed to be concerning or not.  The Mom has emailed our usual vet some questions about it.  The Mom went back and looked at mes last two blood tests over the past year, and my phosphorus has been low both of those times, too, so the Mom wonders if wes need to do anything about this abnormal phosphorus level.

The Mom says mes probably lost so much weight because while mes has been eating well for mes, mes still doesn't eat enough.  Lita just doesn't understand why mes doesn't like noms as much as hers does!  The Mom says hers will be giving mes more of that prescription a/d noms.  Mes won't argue with that - theys is yummy!

That is all mes has to report for nows.  Mes hopes all of our wonderful friends is well and have a good week!

  8. When I had the convenia injection I had the squirts for months and my blood tests showed low phosphorous because I wasn't absorbing the nutrition from my food. Now I do better stools my phosphorous has been okay on my last 2 blood tests. Maybe your low result is because you are not absorbing all the nutrition from your food. I was getting a B12 injection once a month too. I am glad everything else was okay. I hope Lita's leg is soon better.

  18. Be better, both of you. 12 oz. is a lot of weight. I hope the vet had some thoughts as to how to stop that weight loss. If you are eating...maybe now your weight will catch up. Smoochies to you both.
