Hi everyone, it's time for another Milita's Monday!
I was laying here enjoying my favorite show, Meerkat Manor, when the Mom decided to rudely interrupt and take photos of me.
I have been doing pretty well since my last post. I finished up all of my antibiotic (Baytril). The Mom told me all I had to take were three more Prednisolone and I would be done, but she lied!
She told me I was all done with my medication last Sunday, so how come the humans are still shoving those icky chicken liver tablets in my mouth every other day?
The Mom here: Milita finished up her course of antibiotics, and we tried to titrate her off the Prednisolone as instructed, but then my friend and I both thought we heard Lita getting a little crackly again in her breathing. So I asked the vet what she wanted me to do, and she told me to keep giving Lita Prednisolone every other day for now.
Milita will be going back to the vet tomorrow. They will listen to her lungs and possibly take another chest x-ray. I think we are all leaning toward the possible diagnosis of asthma for her.
I am thinking about trying Prednisolone in a transdermal gel for Milita if she needs to continue taking it. She hates pills, though she tolerates the chicken liver Prednisolone. When I asked our vet tech about the gel, though, she said it tends to not be as effective as pills. Can anyone shed any light on this for us?
