Cat Care Society Hosts Super Bowl Adoption Event

Ginger

Cat Care Society, Lakewood, CO

Hi!  My name is Ginger.  I'm a beautiful medium-hair orange tabby.  I'm a friendly girl, but I tend to be shy around strangers.  I'm a very loyal kitty and love my people.  I get along with dogs, but I would prefer to live in a home without small children.

I'm 9 years old, up-to-date on my vaccinations, spayed, and litter box trained.  Please stop by Cat Care Society to get to know me.  You can find me in the Green Room.

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT

In honor of the Denver Broncos going to the Super Bowl, Cat Care Society is having an orange tabby adoption event!  Adopt any orange tabby kitty from Cat Care for $48.  Not only does the price cover the adoption fee, but you'll also get a mini-catnip football and a uniform/bandanna.  All cats are up-to-date on their vaccinations as well.

Additionally, a generous anonymous donor has pledged to give Cat Care $100 for each tabby adopted during this special Super Bowl event!

This special event will last through Super Bowl Sunday, Feb. 2.  However, if the Broncos win, the event will be extended to Feb. 28.

Please spread the word, and let's find these adorable fur babies some forever homes!  You can see a video of the adoptable orange kitties here.

Wordless Wednesday: What's in the Box?

Remember last Wordless Wednesday?  We posted about a Christmas present we go, but we didn't tell you what was in the box?  Well, it's time to show you what we got!

Carmine: A box for me?  I wonder what's inside.

Interesting.  *Sniff sniff*

The Mom says it's called a Cat It Senses Play Circuit.  The Mom and her friend, D, put it together in a snap for us.  And they said it was easy.  It must have been because there were no HBO words involved!

The Mom said to give the ball a whap, so I did!  Me thinks it is lots of fun!

Thank you to our friends who gave us this cool kitty track!!

We hope you all have a wonderful Wordless Wednesday!!

Opt to Adopt - Pinky Wants a Forever Home

Pinky

Cat Care Society: Lakewood, CO

Pinky is not pink, except for his nose.  Rather, he is a beautiful short-hair brown tabby.  He is outgoing and friendly, and he loves to play.  When he gets to know you a little, he might sit in your lap or crawl onto your shoulder for affection.

Although Pinky's Adopt a Pet page states he and Twinkie want to go home together, this is no longer the case.  Both boys are extremely sweet, though, and if you want to learn more about Twinkie, you can visit his page here.

Pinky is approximately 6 years and 6 months old.  He's been neutered, and he is up-to-date on his vaccinations.  He's also litter box trained.

If you'd like to visit Pinky, you can find him in the Gold room at Cat Care Society, located at 5787 W. 6th Avenue in Lakewood Colorado.

Opt to Adopt Updates

These wonderful kitties have been adopted since we started the Opt to Adopt blog hop!  Thank you everyone who has been visiting us and/or sharing these beautiful adoptable babies with others.  We are so happy that these wonderful fur babies now have forever homes of their very own!

I will miss each of these babies very much, but I'm overjoyed that they have great homes now.

Rescue Me Wire Bangle Bracelet Review

I was thrilled when I received an opportunity to review the Rescue Me Wire Bangle Charm Bracelet by Sunny Side Design.

The bracelet is made from sterling silver wire and contains sterling silver charms.  Each bracelet comes with two 3/8" charms, one 1/2" charm,  and one name tag or "dog tag" charm.  You can choose from a selection of hand-stamped charms for your bracelet, and you have the option of adding extra charms to your bracelet at any time for an additional charge.

Angel, the company's owner, makes it easy to customize the charm bracelet.  You can choose from a variety of hand-stamped charms, including angel wings, paw prints, bones, horse shoes, cats, dogs, hearts, and horses.  In addition, you can get your "dog tag" customized with either "Rescued by..." or "Loved by..." and the name of your beloved companion.

Angel is professional and easy to work with.  She was happy to answer any questions I had, and she was sure to let me know when my bracelet had shipped.

My bracelet came in this cute little box.

I apologize for the poor quality of these photos.  These definitely do not do the bracelet or its charms justice.

I decided to dedicate my bracelet to my first kitty, Kitty.

I got a charm with double angel wings, a charm with a paw print, and a charm with a cat on it.  My "dog tag" charm reads, "Rescued by Kitty."  Kitty is now Over the Rainbow Bridge, but this bracelet will help me honor her beautiful spirit and loving memory.

This is the cat charm.

This is the "dog tag" that reads, "Rescued by Kitty."

Like I said, the photos don't do the bracelet justice here.  It's very beautiful!  It seems really durable to me, too, which makes it great for daily wear.

I also love that the bracelet is customizable and comes in four sizes.  The clasp is easy to operate as well so that you can get the bracelet on and off with one hand.

I would definitely recommend this bracelet to anyone who loves jewelry and has or has ever had a companion animal they love/d.

If you'd like your very own Rescue Me Wire Bangle Bracelet, you can purchase one from Sunny Side Design.  At the website, you'll also see much higher quality photos of what the bracelet and charms look like.  You'll be glad to know that a portion of each sale goes to reputable animal rescue organizations.  You can also find Sunny Side Design on Facebook.

Thank you so much to Sunny Side Design for giving me the opportunity to review this beautiful bracelet.  I really love it!

FTC Disclosure: I received the Rescue Me Wire Bangle Bracelet free of charge to review.  This did not influence my review of the product.  All thoughts and opinions expressed are 100% my own.

Any guesses as to what's in this box?  We'll reveal the answer this weekend!

Mancat Monday: Carmine Update

Last Tuesday, I heard I was going to the V-E-T, so guess what mes did?!  Mes hid in a very good spot, and the Mom looked and looked and looked and couldn't find me!  So hers had to "reschedule" the V-E-T.  MOL!!

Mes thought me had WON, but mes hadn't. :(  On Thursday, mes thought something fishy was going on again, so mes hid again.  But the Mom's friend, D, founded mes this time.

So into the carrier mes went.  Me was NOT a happy cat.

We got to the V-E-T, and they took apart my hiding spot (my carrier) and picked me up out of it.  The V-E-T made me stand on the cold scale and said mes lost (more) weight.  The Mom looked worried to mes.  Hers said it is not good that mes keeps losing weight.  Mes nows weighs 8 pounds and 13 ounces.

So the Mom and the V-E-T talked and what they decided was HORRIBLE!!!  The V-E-T took mes into another room without my mommy, and hers poked mes with needles.  I was not a happy boy, but mes tried to be brave.

The Mom talked to the V-E-T the next day and got the results of my blood tests and urinalysis.  The V-E-T said my bloods all came back normal, but there is some protein being excreted in my urine.  Me doesn't know what that means, so me will let the Mom take it from here...

Hi kitties, the Mom here.

The vet said that since Carmine stresses out so easily and since there have been recent changes in the home that we should try a calming diffuser with him, so we got one of those and plugged it into the wall to see if that helps him and his weight loss any.

She says the next steps we need to take in investigating what is going on are to do another test for his kidneys since he's excreting protein in his urine.  She said we should also check his blood pressure and get an x-ray to check that none of his major organs look damaged.  She says if those tests are okay, then he will need an ultrasound on his tummy and more expensive blood tests to check for IBD (Irritable Bowel Disease) and pancreatitis.  She said we could do a trial treatment for IBD if we need to before these expensive tests though.  She's very good in working with what green papers humans have available.

So, we're going to schedule another visit for him in the next couple of weeks for his kidney test and blood pressure and go from there.

I really hope nothing is wrong with him and that we can figure this out quickly.  I feel so bad for my baby; it seems like every year or two, he develops another chronic condition on top of what he's already got.  I just love him so so soooo much and hope we can figure this out so he can be a healthy baby.

Playful and Energetic Andrew Needs a Home

Andrew: Cat Care Society
Lakewood, Colorado

Photo from Andrew's Adopt a Pet profile.

Hi!  My name is Andrew.  I'm a very energetic young kitty.  I'm an orange domestic short-hair, and I'm about one year old.  I tend to be kind of feisty and sometimes I play rough, so I need a home without young kids.  I could use a human to teach me some better manners.  I would love a kitty companion to play with, too.  I know I can make the right human a great friend.

I am neutered, litter box trained, and up-to-date on my vaccinations.

Please come visit me at Cat Care Society.  You can find me in the upstairs hallway.  Just look for the little orange energetic kitty and you'll know you found me!

Easy Like Sunday

Milita: I finally allowed the Mom to get a picture of my face after about 5 attempts.  I just wanted her to stop bothering me so I can enjoy my Easy Sunday.

I'm enjoying my Easy Sunday on top of her office chair.  If anyone wants to curl up in the seat of the chair, I'll kick the Mom out of it for you. :)

Enjoy your Easy Sunday, everyone!
