(Almost) Wordless Wednesday

Carmine and Milita love each other, but Milita never lets Carmine get this close!  There must be something pretty special in that calming collar around her neck!

Beautiful Tara Seeks Forever Home

TARA

Cat Care Society, Lakewood, CO

Tara is a beautiful medium-hair black senior awaiting adoption at Cat Care Society.  Though she's not crazy about being picked up, she's very affectionate and might just hop in your lap if you sit by her.  She loves to play with toys and enjoys catnip, too!

Photo from Tara's Petfinder profile.

Tara is approximately 13 years and five months old.  This means she's covered by the Perpet-U-Care program, which will cover a portion of her veterinary expenses for the remainder of her life.

Tara would like a forever home without dogs.  She is up-to-date on vaccinations, litterbox trained, microchipped, and spayed.

You can visit Tara in the upstairs hall at Cat Care Society, located at 5787 W. 6th Avenue.

Mancat Monday

On Saturday, I went to Cat Care Society for a seminar on multicat households.  Hanging out in the seminar room was my friend Mason!  He came to say hi to me a few times while the vet talked.  He also entertained everyone by scratching the vet's laptop bag and then plopping down on it. :)

After the seminar was over, I pet Mason for a while as everyone left.  Here, he's enjoying some nice rest after all the excitement.

Remember, friendly, affectionate Mason is adoptable from Cat Care!  You can learn more about this great mancat here

Last week, we got The Sunshine Award from our great friend at My FURRY Interesting Life!  We were pleasantly surprised when they told us they had nominated us for the award.  We are very thankful and honored that they thought of us!  If you have never visited them, please click on the link above and say hello. :)

The rules for this award are to share 11 random facts about yourself, answering 11 chosen questions from the blogger who nominated you for the award, creating 11 questions of your own, and nominating 11 bloggers for the award.

11 RANDOM FACTS

Carmine
1. I LOVE to sleep in my pink bed.  It sits on top of mommy's desk.  From there, I can watch everything that's going on.  I take wonderful naps here and supervise mommy while she helps us with our blog.

2. I am the most talkative kitty in the house.  Before I jump up to mommy's computer chair or her bed, I will meow at her so she knows I'm coming.

3. I wake mommy up EVERY day.  When her alarm goes off, I jump up on her bed and meow in her face until she pets me.

Milita
4. I love to EAT more than anyone else in the house.  I will finish my foods very fast, and then go and bug Carmine and Jewel for their foods.  The mom has to supervise dinner time (when we get our wet foods) because if she doesn't, I'll steal everybody's food!!  I also love to eat our kibbles.

5. I am TERRIFIED of water.  I will not go anywhere near a sink OR the kitty fountain the mom bought.  Running water is too scary!

6. I used to watch Meerkats before they took it off Netflix.  The mom should hunt some episodes down for me.  I would sit on the couch and stare and paw at the TV whenever they were on.  It was so exciting to watch!

Jewel
7. I spend most of my day in a pretty cube with blue flowers on it.  I have lovely dreams about mousies and catnip there.

8. Some people think I look like an owl because I have really big green eyes.

9. I dip my paw into the fountain and lick the water off of it a lot.  Hey, my paw gives the water a little flavor!

The Mom
10. I am very sensitive to temperature.  I am almost always either too hot or too cold.

11. I am very loyal - to my cats and to my friends.

11 QUESTIONS

These are the questions I was asked by My FURRY Interesting Life.

1. What was your favorite place that you've visited?
I've never had the chance to go outside the United States.  I visited San Francisco once, though, and that was pretty cool.

2. If you could choose one job in the world to have, what would it be and why?
If I could have any job, I think I would want to run an eating disorder hospital.  One that wouldn't turn away anyone due to lack of insurance or ability to pay.  Everyone who had disordered eating could be treated if they wanted the help.  That would be my ideal job in an ideal world.

3. Are you an oldest, middle, youngest, or only child?
I am an oldest.  I have one younger sister (who was born on the same day as me - three years later). I also have stepsibilings.

4. What is your favorite hobby?
I love sending and getting snail mail.  I have several penpals.  The letters really brighten my day, and I am sure my penpals like getting something other than bills in their mailboxes, too!  I also love to read.

5. What was the happiest day of your life?
Wow.  That's a hard one.  Maybe finding out that I got into my first-choice college.  The days I got my fur babies were pretty awesome, too :)

6. What is your favorite quote?
"If you love people, you have no time to judge them."
~Mother Theresa

Add Some Spice to Your Life with Cinnamon

Cinnamon

Cat Care Society, Lakewood, Colorado

Here I am with sweet Cinnamon.

Cinnamon is an orange tabby with short hair.  He is very affectionate once he gets to know you, but can initially be a little shy and nervous.  He doesn't particularly enjoy being picked up, but he will curl up in a comfy lap occasionally.

Cinnamon came to Cat Care Society in September (2013) when his human passed away.  Even though he misses his human, he has a lot of love to give.  Cinnamon is approximately 13 years and six months old.  Due to his senior status, he is in the Petper-U-Care program, which will pay for a portion of his veterinary care for the remainder of his life.

Cinnamon is neutered, up-to-date on his vaccines, litter box trained, and microchipped.  He would prefer to be in a home without dogs.

You can meet Cinnamon at Cat Care Society, located at 5787 W. 6th Avenue in Denver, Colorado.  You can find him in the Gold room on the upper level of the building.

Mancat Monday

Carmine: Here I am laying in a sun puddle some time ago.  I miss my sun puddles.  It's been raining (and snowing!!) here the past couple of days.  Please come back to visit me, Mr. Sun!  Me misses yous.

The mom went to paint some pottery this weekend with a few friends.  Hers said she made us a new bowl!!  We think it's nice that hers put fshies on it - there's one inside and some on the outside, too.  We will see what our bowl looks like when it gets fired in about a week.

We hope everyone has a great Monday!

Milita: There's plenty of room here on my tree if anyone wants to join me.

We hope you all have a great Easy!

Wordy Wednesday

Today we are going to let the mom post here because hers thinks some humans can commiserate with hers.  And some purrs would be nice if you wants to give hers some, too.

The mom here.  On Monday, I went to my dentist, thinking I had a cavity because one of my teeth has been hurting me for a couple of months.  Was I ever surprised when the dentist said I have a fractured tooth!!  The cost they estimated for all of my work (which I get done under IV sedation) was insane -- even after the part my insurance covers.

What we finally decided on is to wait until December so that I can save (and work for) more funds for my dental care.  We will put a temporary crown on my tooth, and then next year, I will get a permanent crown for it.

I don't understand why insurance pays so very little for dental care.  It's just as important as healthcare if you ask me as dental health can affect your physical health.

Carmine: The mom says the next time mes goes in for dental surgery, hers is going to come too so the v-e-t can fix hers teeths.  MOL!  Hers is so funny!!

Mancat Mason Searches for His Home: Opt to Adopt

OPT TO ADOPT

MASON, CAT CARE SOCIETY, LAKEWOOD, CO

Do you remember our friend Mason?  He is sadly still looking for his human and forever home.  He was adopted about a week ago but was brought back to the shelter about three days later.  His adopter may not have been ready to have a kitty.

Photo taken from Mason's Petfinder profile page.

Mason can get nervous, so he may need a little extra time to get used to a new home.  However, he is a very sweet and loving boy.  He loves to being pet and he loves to eat!

Mason is an orange tabby, and he's approximately four and a half years old.  You can visit him in the lower level of Cat Care Society, near the vet clinic.  He can typically be found in the conference room having a snooze.

Mason is neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, litterbox trained, and microchipped.

To learn more about Mason, you can visit his Petfinder profile page or call Cat Care Society.

(Almost) Wordless Wednesday

The mom is feeling almost better now.  Thank you, everyone for the extra purrs for her.  We know they helped lots!!

Jewel: For once, Carmine isn't hogging the mom's bed, so I'm enjoying it today!

Happy Wednesday, friends!

Mancat Monday

The mom has not been helping us visit many of our friends in the past few days because hers is sick.  I'm trying to be extra-cute to make her feel better...

...but it doesn't seem to be working because hers is still sick!  I thought orange-y cuteness was supposed to cure everything.

Opt to Adopt: Barney

Barney

Cat Care Society

Lakewood, Colorado

Barney is a very sweet buff (or tan) and white boy.  He loves attention and loves to be pet.  His voice is a little funny - he doesn't really meow - it's more like a croak (and it's really cute!).  Barney loves to sleep in the cat beds and on the cat mats in the cat store.

He went to Cat Care Society when his person could not take care of him anymore.  He is a senior cat and comes with the Perpet-U-Care program, which will cover a portion of his veterinary care for the rest of his life.

Barney: You can't have your coat unless you take me home with you!

Barney would love to find a nice forever home.  He really loves hanging out with human companions.

Please stop by Cat Care Society (located at 5787 W. 6th Avenue in Lakewood, Colorado) and visit with this very cool feline!  You can find Barney inside Meow Mart, the cat store in the adoption center.
