Summer dangers for cats

You wouldn't go outside without first putting on sunscreen, right? Neither should you allow your cat with white fur to sit in the sunlight (indoors or outdoors) without sunscreen.

Not only do cats get sun burns, they can suffer from heat exhaustion and get bee stings as well.

To learn about all the dangers your cat faces during summertime, please read, "Summer Dangers for Cats."

Kittens

Last week Dave and I were at the mall and he pointed out these three kittens at the front of the mall's pet shop. There was an orange and white one, a solid white one, and a tiger-striped, brown one. They looked like they were brothers and sisters. They took turns bathing each other and huddled up to one another. It was so sweet!

I hope whoever adopts those precious kittens is able to take all three. I know that's rare, but I think it'd be a real shame to split them up when they are obviously so closely bonded.

Cat CPR

In honor of Disaster Prevention Awareness Month, I'm going to post a series of articles and information you might need in an emergency.

While I certainly hope you and your cat/s do not ever need this information, it's better to have it and not need it rather than need it and not have it.

One of the most important things you should know is how to do CPR on your cat. CPR is a life-saving technique.

The article: CPR for Cats will give you step by step instructions for how to perform this life-saving procedure. Please verify this information with your veterinarian. While I am a cat "expert", I am NOT by any means a veterinarian.

talking to the mirror

Carmine did one of the cutest things I've ever seen a cat do yesterday!
He jumped into the bathroom sink, as he often does and put his front paws up on the bathroom wall, just below the bathroom mirror. He looked into the mirror and said, "raooow!", as if to say, "Look at me! I AM so cute!" It was too adorable!
